Canadian Agri-Food Trade Mission
to Southeast Asia

December 1-11, 2010

The Canadian Food Exporters Association in cooperation with the Embassy of Canada in Vietnam and the High Commissions of Canada in Singapore and Malaysia is inviting all Canadian Agri-Food companies to participate in a mission to Southeast Asia. The mission will provide exposure for food exporters interested in supplying the retail and foodservice sector.

If you looking to expand your export markets, attended Food Hotel Asia, Singapore this past April or wanted to attend but couldn’t, then this trade mission would be a good opportunity for your company to either follow up or to have first time meetings with potential buyers.

The objectives of the mission are to:

  • Raise awareness with Canadian companies of Southeast Asia as a potential export market for value added products;

  • Explore opportunities in the region for Canadian value-added products in the retail and foodservice sectors, make contacts, meet with interested importers to continue building relationship between major retailers and distributors and Canadian exporters;

  • Gain recognition in Southeast Asia for Canada as a supplier of high quality, safe food;

  • See trends in value-added foods in the region.

The program will include:

  • Overview of the markets prior to departure of mission;

  • Brief introductory speech to the attendees by Canadian exporters about their products;

  • Table top exhibition of your products with the opportunity for discussion one-on-one;

  • Networking luncheons providing the opportunity to further discuss your products with potential buyers;

  • Supermarket visits
