NEWS: Consultation for the EU’s new Organic Regulation

Following the adoption of the EU’s new Organic Regulation 2018/848, which will apply in 2021, the EU is conducting a consultation on new regulations that will affect the import of organic food and you are welcome to submit your comments directly to the EU.

The EU is setting detailed implementing rules for trading in organic products.

These rules concern the list of third countries and the list of control authorities and control bodies that have been recognized under Article 33(2) and (3) of Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 for the purpose of importing organic products into the Union.

The EC is seeking feedback on this regulation by November 18, 2021; you are invited to provide your comments and/or concerns to the EC consultation directly using the link above.  A copy of your submission is requested to be shared with the Market Access Secretariat at aafc.mas-sam.aac@agr.gc.ca at your discretion.
