The Canadian Food Exporters Association would like to invite you to participate in the Canada pavilion organized by the Canadian government at the China Food and Drink Fair (CFDF) taking place at the Chengdu Western China International Expo City, Chengdu, China from March 21-23, 2019.
In 2018, CFDF attracted 4,097 companies from over 40 counties and regions to exhibit, there were about 30 country pavilions, and over 400,000 domestic and international wine importers and distributors toured the fair. According to data from the organizers, among last year show’s participants 56% were interested in food & beverage, 57% wine & liquor, 27% machinery part, and 23% are paying attention on other topics. It is undoubtedly the “No.1 event” on the calendar of China’s food and drink industry, and it is truly a national fair as more than half of the participants are traveling from the East, North and South parts of China.
The cost to participate under the CFEA umbrella is CDN $3,077.00 for a 7.5sqm stand (includes: reception counter, table, chairs and small display cabinet. Wine glasses and ice will also be included for wineries).
Note: To participate under the CFEA umbrella and receive funding you must be a member of our association. The cost for membership is CDN $565.00. Travel/Shipment Reimbursement Details (for CFEA members only): upon completion of the event, you will be provided with a claim form to apply for the reimbursement of your travel and shipping expenses. The reimbursement will consist of 50% of an economy class airfare up to a maximum reimbursement of CDN $1,100.00 (maximum 2 per company), a per diem of CDN $212.50 per day up to a maximum of 6 days (maximum 2 per company) and a partial reimbursement of your sample shipment expenses (up to a maximum of $500.00).
It is important to keep the following documentation for the claim process: a copy of your airline itinerary that shows the travel dates and price paid for the ticket, boarding passes, and a shipment invoice. You will also be required to provide proof of payment (credit card statement or cancelled cheques) for all expenses. Cash payments are not permitted. NOTE: If you fly premium economy or business you will be expected to provide an economy ticket mock up along with the paid ticket and the reimbursement will be based on whichever is lower.
