In collaboration with partners, the Trade Commissioner Service is organizing the Food Ingredients Fair as an in-person B2B event in Seoul on October 10-11, 2023.
Ready-meals and healthy foods have become major pillars of the Korean food industry where more than 30,000 processors operate both for domestic and international markets. While their business expands into wider global markets, the Korean food processors heavily rely on imported ingredients especially from the countries with clean and safe food supply to satisfy the high standards of the consumers. Responding to the demands, this year’s focus will be healthy and innovative ingredients such as specialty grains and pulses, intermediate ingredients such as plant-based proteins and additives, processed fruit products, functional ingredients, etc. which can be used in the various forms of final food and health functional products in Korea.
Food Ingredients Fair 2023 will aim to serve up to 15 Canadian companies who are export-ready and keen to expand and diversify their exports by entering into the Korean market. Once the recruitment of Canadian participants is completed in collaboration with the partners, the TCS will consolidate interests from the Korean buyers to do a matchmaking and provide customized 1-on-1 meeting programs with potential buyers for each participant. A market briefing and a site visit will be additionally organized for the participants to be better quipped for their meetings with the Korean buyers.
This program is open to Canadian exporters of specialty grains and pulses, intermediate ingredients such as plant-based proteins and additives, processed fruit products, functional ingredients. Must be produced in Canada. Please note that priorities will be given to those products or companies with stronger market potentials in the Korean market.
Target Korean buyers: general food and health functional food processors, manufacturers, HMR and private label OEM manufacturers, food importers and retailers, etc.
