Argentine Pork Import Requirements – SENASA Regulations & Product Registration

We wish to inform you that Argentina’s animal health authority, Servicio Nacional de Sanidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria (SENASA), regulates the importation of pork and other animal-origin products under SENASA Resolution 816/ 2002.

All Canadian exports of products of animal-origin intended for human consumption destined to Argentina must comply with SENASA’s zoosanitary and documentation requirements prior to entry.

In addition to sanitary, certification and authorization procedures, SENASA Resolution 816/ 2002 establishes that the exporter must submit an industry monograph for each product for import eligibility to Argentina. The monograph must be signed by a representative at the manufacturing establishment and does not require the signature of a CFIA official. This requirement has been long-standing and remains unchanged under the current regulatory framework.
