Jul 6, 2026 On 23 June, 2026, South Africa notified the WTO TBT Committee of a revised measure on dairy and dairy alternative products (see attached document). The main changes are related to packaging and labelling but the proposed revised measure expands the scope of this regulation to include dairy alternative products (e.g., plant based dairy imitation beverages).
All changes to the original text are either in strikeout or in red font to facilitate the revision of the measure and clearly identify proposed changes. The revised regulation can be accessed via this link https://members.wto.org/crnattachments/2026/TBT/ZAF/26_03250_00_e.pdf.
