Aug 10, 2026 On July 7, 2026, Prime Minister Mark Carney and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the launch of negotiations toward a comprehensive, modern, and mutually beneficial Canada-Türkiye free trade agreement. Following this announcement, Global Affairs Canada has launched public consultations to inform Canada’s negotiating positions.
