News from AAFC’s Market Access Secretariat
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has been informed by India that as of January 1st, 2023, they will be implementing new import requirements for pork and pork products from Canada to India. Canada will be negotiating with India the food safety requirements included on the certificate for the export of pork and pork products in the coming weeks.
We would like to advise that shipments arriving in India on January 1, 2023, and onward will require the new
certificate template. Therefore, effective immediately, CFIA will stop issuing the export certificates for pork shipments to India until further notice.
Please do not hesitate to contact the Market Access Secretariat at firstname.lastname@example.org should you have any questions.
